  1. Clapping Hands

    Psalm 47:1 (NIV):  Clap your hands, all you nations; shout to God with cries of joy.

    Psalm 98:8-9 (NIV):  8 Let the rivers clap their hands, let the mountains sing together for joy; 9 let them sing before the LORD, for he comes to judge the earth.  He will judge the world in righteousness and the peoples with equity.

  2. Confession/Repentance

     Ezra 10:1 (NIV):  While Ezra was praying and confessing, weeping and throwing himself down before the house of God, a large crowd of Israelites—men, women and children—gathered around him. They too wept bitterly.

     Psalm 32:5 (KJV):  I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid.  I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.

  3. Dancing

    2 Samuel 6:14-15 (NIV):  14David, wearing a linen ephod, danced before the LORD with all his might, 15while he and the entire house of Israel brought up the ark of the LORD with shouts and the sound of trumpets.

    Psalm 149:3 (KJV):  Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp.

    Psalm 150:4 (KJV):  Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with the stringed insturments and organs.

  4. Instruments

    Psalm 33:2-3 (NIV):  2 Praise the LORD with the harp; make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre.  3 Sing to him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy.

    Psalm 150:4-6 (NIV):  4praise him with tambourine and dancing, praise him with the strings and flute, 5praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals.  6Let everything that has breath praise the LORD.  Praise the LORD.

  5.  Kneeling

    Psalm 95:6 (KJV):  O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker.

    Psalm 138:1-2 (NIV):  1I will praise you, O LORD, with all my heart; before the “gods” I will sing your praise. 2I will bow down toward your holy temple and will praise your name for your love and your faithfulness, for you have exalted above all things your name and your word.

  1. Lifting hands

    Psalm 134:2 (NIV):  Lift up your hands in the sanctuary and praise the LORD.

    1 Timothy 2:8 (NIV):  I want men everywhere to lift up holy hands in prayer, without anger or disputing.  

  2. Mouth

    Hebrews 13:15 (NIV):  Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that confess his name.

    James 3:9-10 (NIV):  9With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in God’s likeness.  10Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be.

  3. Prophetic Song

    Psalm 40:3 (KJV):  And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.

    Psalm 98:1 (NIV):  Sing to the LORD a new song, for he has done marvelous things; his right hand and his holy arm have worked salvation for him.

  4. Shouting

    Psalm 98:4 (KJV):  Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise.

    Psalm 95:1 (NIV):  Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.

  5. Silence  

    Psalm 46:10 (KJV):  Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

    Ecclesiastes 3:7 (NIV):  a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak,

  6. Singing

    Psalm 149:5-6 (NIV):  5Let the saints rejoice in this honor and sing for joy on their beds.  6 May the praise of God be in their mouths and a double-edged sword in their hands,

    Psalm 30:4 (NIV):  Sing to the LORD, you saints of his; praise his holy name.

  7. Standing

     Psalm 134:1 (KJV):  A Song of degrees.  Behold, bless ye the LORD, all ye servants of the LORD, which by night stand in the house of the LORD.

    Psalm 135:1-2 (KJV):  1Praise ye the LORD.  Praise ye the name of the LORD; praise him, O ye servants of the LORD. 2Ye that stand in the house of the LORD, in the courts of the house of our God,

  8. Giving Thanks

    Psalm 30:4 (KJV):  Sing unto the LORD, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.

    Ezra 3:11 (NIV):  With praise and thanksgiving they sang to the LORD:
                                    “He is good; his love to Israel endures forever.”
    And all the people gave a great shout of praise to the LORD, because the foundation of the house of the LORD was laid.
